Therapy

Effective treatment with a provider who gets it.

I spent the entirety of my 10+ years of doctoral training in the therapy room, out in the field, and in the research lab specializing in improving the mental health of first responders, military members, and civilians. I understand the complex impact that issues such as trauma, anxiety, and stress can have on someone’s mental, physical, and emotional well-being. I also understand how these stressors can negatively impact loved ones, such as partners, spouses, and family members.

I’m an action-oriented psychologist who uses evidence-based techniques backed by science to help my clients achieve their goals and build resilience. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is foundational to success, which is why I prioritize establishing trust and safety with each of my clients. I provide individual and couple therapy to those looking for help with navigating a myriad of concerns. I’m particularly specialized in serving first responders and military members, their loved ones, and civilians in high stress professions (e.g., healthcare workers; lawyers; mental health providers; consultants). I’m available to provide easily-accessible teletherapy to anyone in California, Idaho, and Florida. If you’re a current/former first responder, military member, or the loved one of either, please check out the “financial assistance” tab below to learn more about an incredible financial aid opportunity that helps cover the cost of therapy with me.

You do not have to fight this battle alone anymore - I’d love to help you.

  • I’m a contracted psychologist with The Overwatch Collective (TOC), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that all those who have served receive the help they need through their therapy financial assistance program. Their financial assistance program is based off a tier system, such that they cover the first 3 sessions at 100%, the next 5 sessions at 60%, the following 5 at 50%, and so on… All current/former first responders, military members, AND their loved ones are eligible to receive therapy funding through TOC.

The process to get started is easy, quick, and completely confidential. Most individuals have an appointment set up with me within one week of reaching out to TOC. To get started click here, and fill out the form listing me as your preferred therapist. You can also contact me first for a free 15-minute phone consultation to learn more.

  • I use evidence-based treatments and techniques backed by science to help my clients achieve their goals, regain control of their lives, re-align with their values, and improve their quality of life. It’s important to remember that even though I’m an expert in mental health, you are an expert in you. That said, I believe strongly in the importance of a collaborative professional relationship, which means that we will work towards your goals as a team. My ultimate goal is to provide you with agency so that you no longer need my services.

  • Everyone’s needs are unique, so the therapy process looks different for each individual. Typically, the first couple of sessions involve me gathering more information about you, including your background, your concerns, and your treatment goals. We will then collaboratively determine a treatment plan that best fits your needs. The frequency of therapy sessions depends on the individual’s needs and bandwidth, with sessions typically being scheduled weekly or bi-weekly at the start of treatment. Therapy may also include brief “homework” and practice outside of sessions. Of note: all therapy is currently being conducted virtually via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

If you are interested in learning more about what therapy might look like for you, you can schedule a free 15-minute consultation call. This is a no-pressure opportunity for us to briefly get to know one another and to see if I might be able to provide you with what you are looking for. Just as important, it’s an opportunity for you to get to know me and see if I’m the right fit for you prior to scheduling a session.
